The Feminist Film Festival was founded by the Women's Initiatives Supporting Group in 2011, by bringing queer community film screenings to public space. Since 2013, the festival has been presented to the audience under the name From Rosa to Simone. The festival has been hosted by different spaces of Tbilisi in recent years, and in the background of the disappearance of public spaces and the growing commercialization of cinema theaters, it continues nomadic life.
Around a key theme selected each year, the festival program features films made by women and about women's experiences, which are a special focus of our feminist observation. Along with film screenings, the festival offers meetings with directors, workshops, and parallel exhibitions; and expands the network of feminist cooperation in different directions locally, regionally, and internationally.
The festival's main theme in 2024 is Foreign Bodies/Feminist Horror. The festival will be held on March 8, 9, and 10 at Mutant Radio. Opening on 8th of March - 18:00. The Screenings will start at 14:00 on Saturday/Sunday.
This year's program is presented by the Women's Initiatives Support Group as part of the campaign Touchpoints - Why We Need Intersectional Feminism?
